LAQ August Banquet- Group Quilts and Paint Chip Challenge

  Our Guild features
Group quilts worked on members from our guild.  In August, all eligible members of the guild and an extra ticket for those who worked on the quilt get tossed in a hat.  The only catch to winning is you must organize next year's quilt!!

What beautiful work!

Our banquet this summer was held in the Town of Medary shelter on a beautiful evening.  Everyone enjoyed the games and picnic potluck.

After Group quilts we had our guild challenge.  This year's challenge had record participation!!  The challenge was to make a quilt of any size and use paint chips to match the colors.  Three paint chips- one for each initial in your name- must have colors that matched fabric, and one hand sewn item (button, handwork, etc.)
There was such great variety!!

There was such variety- small wall hangings, purses, bags, book covers, full sized quilts and more.  Our group was so creative!!

Amazed to see how well everyone matched the paint chips to fabric too.

Below you will see the announcements- the voting was extremely close!

The Winners of the Paint Chip Challenge!

Quilted by our guild

Some of our quilting guild's amazing work!  Show and tell is always inspiring!

Welcome to the La Crosse Area Quilting Guild!

About

A guild for those interested in the art of quilting in the LaCrosse Area. We meet at the Days Hotel on French Island the 4th Tues of each month at 7:00PM.
Mission
We are a diverse group of people unified by our love of quilting and our desire to share this art with others. We wish to welcome other quilters from the novice to the most experienced; those who love traditional quilting to those who celebrate art quilts; those who are looking for friendship with other quilters to those who are searching for avenues of community service.

Our purposes are:

•to promote and advance the art of quilt making in the guild and community
•to provide quality programming and workshops to educate and inspire members
•to provide fellowship opportunities for members
•to share ideas, learn from one another, and encourage fellow quilters
•to sponsor a judged quilt show every two years
•to promote an appreciation of the rich heritage of quilting arts in our community
•to serve our community with charitable activities
Description
The heart of our guild is the monthly meetings that consist of a business meeting to cover current and upcoming activities, an interesting program, and show and tell. This time of sharing quilted projects with the group is so much fun as they are received with much enthusiasm and acclaim!

Join us at our monthly meetings, held on the 4th Tuesday of the month (except August and December) at Days Hotel on French Island. Visitors are always welcome!
